Since the turn of the 21st century, there has been a rivalry between Old Money and New Money, especially in America. During the roaring twenties, people who came from low income families thrived and became millionaires. Families that come from Old Money have always been bitter towards these individuals, who are called "New Money" (or Nouveau riche). The reasons for this vary, though typically it is because New Money is far too flashy and gaudy with their wealth, and Old Money, having growing up with it for generations, take their wealth more gracefully and conservatively.
While the reasons are an endless list, the feud between Old Money and New Money has lasted a century in America.
Forty-five years ago, Flintwood, a small gated town founded by Old Money, for Old Money, opened its doors for New Money families. While some families in Flintwood had lost their money from poor investments, since they could no longer keep up with the new world, their houses were bought by first generation millionaires and eventually billionaires. Still, there are families in Flintwood who've been there since it was founded. There are some who just moved in, unaware of the unspoken feud between two classes of wealth.
settingDate: Spring, 2016 (update: April)
Location: Flintwood, Connecticut. Located in the "Gold Coast", nearby New Haven.
Flintwood is a semi-small town that is partially gated, and is home for some of the most wealthiest people and families in North America, or even the world. It is an extremely expensive area to live, so most people who live there make more than 120k+ a year. Though there are people who simply work there, and live out of town, and make less.
